Owner Joe Carolan has been routed in the foodservice business since the age of fourteen. He started at the original Casa Mia's on Taylor Avenue in Parkville, Maryland, helping with small tasks like folding pizza boxes and sweeping the floors. He honed his skills in pizza making and food prep by the time he graduated high school. While in college, owner George Nichols asked him if he wanted to partner in a new location in White Marsh, Maryland. He accepted and together, they introduced a small carryout making pizza, subs, and especially Maryland style crab cakes. Business flourished and the carryout became a full-service bar and restaurant known for award-winning crab cakes. Today, the White Marsh location still sells thousands of crab cakes each week.

In 2023, Joe realized his dream: moving to the Myrtle Beach area. Upon settling in, he realized he wanted to bring Maryland style crab cakes to the area. He found the perfect location and will open in the summer of 2024 at 2298 Glenns Bay Rd in Surfside Beach. Stop by, say hello, and enjoy a delicious meal!
